Why Retread?
1. Why Buy a Retread?
Buying a retread will save you approximately half of your new tyre expenditure, it will reduce your tyre spend and lower your cents per kilometre cost, giving you greater value. On top of this you will support a local business and help the environment.
2. Will my retread last as long as a new tyre?
In most instances, the retread will last longer than a new tyre. This is because the retread rubber is compressed more than that of a new tyre by the way it is made
3. What is the lifespan of a retread?
The lifespan of a retread will depend on what you are doing with it, whether it be off road work or on road highway work, however a retread will perform as an equal to or better than a new tyre given the same application.
4. Are retreads environmentally friendly?
Yes, in fact the retread rubber used in the retread manufacturing process uses only 20 litres of oil compared to a new replacement tyre that uses 80 litres of oil for every tyre made. By using the original tyre case again, it saves on landfill and if you used another new tyre to replace an old tyre you are saving the oil and materials used in the new tyre manufacturing.
5. Are retreads smart for budgets?
Absolutely, they are the most cost-effective option for your business saving you directly on the bottom line. Retreads save you on disposal costs and they are half the price of a new tyre in replacement cost providing you the added benefits of reliability and the performance of a new tyre.
Retreads reduce your overall cost per kilometre and reduce environmental waste.
6. Are retreads high quality?
Our retreads are the highest quality available and many operators swear by them. We use exactly the same rubber that is used to make a brand-new Michelin tyre. We also work within a proven quality system that ensures we only make the highest quality retread tyres available in the market. On top of this we are audited by Michelin every 12 months in order to maintain our international accreditation.

REGROOVING
MICHELIN Truck and Bus Tyres are engineered for Multi-Life= Regroovable and Retreadable!
- MORE MILEAGE: SAVE 1 TYRE EVERY 4! Regrooving is carried out at a time when the original tread depth has 3 to 4 mm remaining and the tyre is normally removed. Regrooving restores tread depth thus providing up to 25% more kilometers.
- MORE SAFETY THROUGH GRIP 1 Regrooving significantly renews the grip of the tyre through the regeneration of the groove up to 4mm beyond the original bottom of the groove.
- LESS FUEL CONSUMPTION AND LESS CO2 EMISSIONS. Regrooving is carried out in the phase when the tyre has the lowest rolling resistance due to higher rigidity of the shallow tread pattern, and Low Rolling Resistance means Increased Fuel Efficiency.
- LESS RAW MATERIALS CONSUMPTION TO PRESERVE THE ENVIRONMENT. By adding only 5% additional rubber volume when the tyre is new, a Michelin Regroovable tyre will add up to 25% more kilometers which creates a 16% reduction in raw materials when compared to non-regroovable tyres.
